308nm Excimer UV-light is a single wavelength light by using Xecl as illumination, to induce T cells apoptosis and improve pigment synthesis. It is regarded as the gold standard to treat vitiligo because of the excellent efficacy, low operation cost, short treatment course and less adverse reactions.
Comparing with 308nm Excimer laser, 308nm Excimer UV-light shows similar results in terms of efficacy for repigmentation. Besides, it is capable to make larger spot size for irradiation to offer a fast and high efficient treatment. Unlike 308nm Excimer laser, 308nm Excimer UV-light provides a long lifespan of lamp and doesn’t require any gas as consumable .
